Hi, I'm Christina

Artist Bio
Christina was born in Mount Albert, Auckland, where she was surrounded by a rich horticultural environment from an early age. Her father was a dedicated grower of plants and flowers, supplying horticultural products to the community. Growing up in this setting, she developed a deep appreciation for nature, particularly flowers and their artistic arrangement.
This passion naturally led her into a long and fulfilling career in floristry, where she honed her skills in floral design and creative composition. Over the years, she built a strong reputation in the industry, eventually establishing and successfully running her own business, Country Flowers. Through her work, she combined artistry with nature, bringing beauty into people’s lives with her thoughtfully crafted floral arrangements.
Christina now lives in Ruakaka, Northland, where she has found the perfect balance between nature and creativity. Her studio, nestled not far from the beach, is a dream realised—an inspiring sanctuary where she can fully immerse herself in her artistic practice. The tranquil coastal surroundings, combined with the lush landscapes of Northland, provide endless sources of inspiration for her work.
Drawing from her deep love and understanding of flowers, gardens, and native flora and fauna, Christina has created an extensive collection of botanical artworks. Her portfolio includes intricate oil paintings, delicate watercolours, and detailed coloured pencil drawings, all of which capture the beauty and essence of the natural world. She finds great joy in portraying the fine details, textures, and vibrant hues of plants and flowers, bringing them to life on canvas and paper.
Although oils and watercolours remain her preferred mediums, Christina also embraces the expressive possibilities of abstract art. She enjoys the freedom and spontaneity that come with working in acrylics and occasionally incorporates mixed media techniques into her pieces. This allows her to experiment with texture, layering, and movement, creating artworks that are both dynamic and evocative.
Through her art, Christina continues to explore the connection between nature and creativity, sharing her passion for the botanical world with others. Whether capturing the delicate petals of a flower or the bold energy of an abstract composition, her work reflects a deep appreciation for the beauty that surrounds her.
