Softly Softly a New Day

Ruakaka estuary at daybreak

Gathered Together

Whangarei Heads in the background

alt

Oil on Canvas

900mm x 600mm

This scene was painted at Bream Bay in the late afternoon on a winter's day.       A shower of rain had just passed over. Gaps in the clouds let a shimmering spotlight through to highlight a collection of scallop shells. It just had to be painted!

SOLD

Red Hot

Gerberas sizzling in the heat

Picture Perfect Peonies

Full-bodied poetry in motion

alt

Oil on Canvas

900mm x 600mm

Peonies are at their showiest in a New Zealand garden in November and December. To me, they are the most romantic and "olde worlde" of all the garden flowers. In this painting they are opening their arms and turning their faces to the first signs of the summer sun.

They are a beautifully decorated Christmas tree given to us ready-made by nature.

Pretty Faces

Pansies and violas have cute little faces

 Oil on Canvas

700mm x 700mm

These rich jewel colours are a delightful combination when pansies are planted tightly together in the garden or a pot. I loved the colour combinations so simply had to paint them.

Let's go for a walk

Oil on Canvas

610mm x 910mm

I love the time of evening on the beach when the light is changing and the day cools a little. I wanted to capture the last of the soft light reflecting on the flax bush at the top of the dunes. This scene is Ruakaka Beach looking south down the bay.

Telling Secrets

Irises whispering to each other in the hidden part of the garden

alt
